I’ve been showing up here periodically for years for two reasons.
First, if something I write makes one life 0.01% better, and even if that life is my mom’s (my number one fan), it’s worth the time and energy.
Second, to improve my writing and communication.
The rise of AI and my good friend ChatGPT removed the urgency to practice my writing here, and I showed up less often.
I missed it. I missed the imaginary readers who may stumble across this page and find something useful. I missed organizing my thoughts and sharing my experience.
So I’m back. Or as I like to say, I’m beginning again.
I recently read that our lives are like scooping up a handful of sand relative to all the sand on earth. For me, this puts our humble and brief existence into perspective.
Our lives are short, and our experiences are small. At the same time, each of us is unique, irreplaceable, and has something to share and something to learn.
That’s why I’m here. That’s why I show up.
